Christine Espinal collaborates with inZOI to design virtual spaces inspired by her minimalist spatial design

Spatial Designer Christine Espinal Translates Her Vision into a Virtual World with inZOI

Christine Espinal, the Los Angeles-based spatial furniture designer, is taking her creative practice into the digital realm by collaborating with inZOI, a new life simulation game from KRAFTON. Known for transforming grand design ideas into tangible spaces, Espinal now brings her vision of functional, minimalist environments to a fully interactive virtual world.

From Real-World Design to Digital Landscapes

Espinal, who studied at FIT and was a founding member of Lichen, a Brooklyn-based interior design and furniture collective, is widely recognized for her ability to merge conceptual imagination with real-world execution. Her partnership with inZOI represents an extension of that philosophy, allowing her to craft a personalized educational landscape that reflects the principles guiding her interior work.

Within inZOI’s Build Studio, Espinal designed a hybrid live/work loft characterized by minimalist accents, natural light, earthy tones, plywood finishes, and warm textures. “That’s my dream living situation right now,” she explained. “Once I got a sense of inZOI’s Build Studio tools and how to use them, it was very simple. I ended up making the space a bit more dynamic by making it multi-level, but still streamlined with my design style.”

Customization Meets Creative Freedom

inZOI provides users with an expansive set of tools to design fully functioning spaces and communities. Each player becomes a “Zoi”, capable of building and living in unique worlds. Espinal praised the intuitive features of Build Studio, noting how she was able to upload her favorite furniture designs into the virtual home.

She highlighted the platform’s 3D-printing feature, which enables players to import external images and designs, turning them into interactive, tangible objects in-game. “It’s great how you can bring outside elements into the game, and it’s a cool place to escape,” Espinal shared. “You can create a little world and live virtually through your own Zoi — and designing Zois in the Character Studio is actually stunning.”

A Seamless Integration of Process

Espinal reflected that she always digitally renders her projects before construction, making inZOI’s Build Studio a natural extension of her workflow. By creating her ideal loft in the digital world, she seamlessly merged her professional design methodology with her virtual space, bringing her personal aesthetic into her Zoi’s environment.

Building Beyond Boundaries

inZOI offers more than just interiors—it gives players the chance to build communities, explore cities like Bliss Bay, or create dream retreats such as the newest island destination in Cahaya. With its robust customization tools, the platform empowers creatives like Espinal and everyday players alike to turn concepts into immersive worlds.

Players can now experience Espinal’s creative journey and begin building their own worlds by downloading the game on the App Store.

As Espinal demonstrated, whether in real life or within a virtual landscape, the environment you design shapes the way you think, live, and create. With inZOI, the opportunity to bring that philosophy to life is limitless.
