A Minimalist Nest in the Heart of Bundang
In the serene and upscale Bundang district of Seoul, F/ABA, a local minimalist furniture brand, has unveiled its intimate flagship: the F/ABA Nest showroom. Designed by Seoul-based flw8studio, the space takes inspiration from the soft embrace of a bird’s nest, translating the brand’s signature flowing curves and precision detailing into a retail experience that feels both immersive and refined. Though the showroom measures only 30 square meters, its spatial concept feels expansive, enveloping visitors in warmth without compromising elegance.
Architectural Statement Meets Urban Glow
The showroom’s exterior commands attention with a monolithic entrance frame in deep tones, outfitted with a custom 3M door. Flanking side windows integrate seamlessly with the building’s original columns, creating a unified architectural composition. By day, expansive façade glazing floods the interior with natural light; by night, it projects a warm glow onto the street, ensuring F/ABA’s curved furniture pieces remain a visual highlight within the urban setting.
Inside: Curves, Light, and Flow
Upon entering, visitors are oriented by a reception counter aligned with the angled façade line, while structural columns subtly echo the shapes found in F/ABA’s designs. A striking feature wall opposite the main window combines light and texture beneath a wooden-louver “birdcage” that gently diffuses illumination over textured stucco. A warm, wood-toned ceiling with integrated indirect lighting gives the low space a sense of lift, while each piece of furniture is positioned as if in a curated gallery, maintaining visual harmony through a carefully aligned spatial axis and consistent material flow.
